
Another Stephen King Story Is Heading to the Big Screen
Fans of Maine’s most famous horror author have another movie to look forward to with the announcement of this project.
Really, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that another Stephen King project has been picked up by Hollywood. Between his countless novels and short stories, King has created hundreds of works, giving filmmakers plenty of material to adapt for the big screen.

Stephen King’s short story ‘Rat’ from his 2020 collection ‘If It Bleeds’ is officially getting a movie adaptation.
Other stories in the book include ‘Mr. Harrigan's Phone,’ ‘The Life of Chuck,’ and ‘If It Bleeds’—but right now, it’s ‘Rat’ that’s headed to the movies.

Not much else is known about the project just yet, as the announcement has only just been made, and no release date has been shared.
What we do know is that the movie adaptation of ‘Rat’ is moving forward with Jay Van Hoy, the producer behind ‘The Witch’ and ‘The Lighthouse.’ The screenplay is being written by Jeff Howard, best known for ‘The Haunting of Hill House.’ Directing duties fall to Isaac Ezban, with producers Fernando Ferro of ‘The Birthday Cake’ and Paul Perez of ‘Father of the Bride’ also on board.

And there you have it! Stephen King’s story ‘Rat’ from the collection ‘If It Bleeds’ has officially been greenlit for a movie adaptation.
