Who says Bangor can’t be romantic?

Stephen King fever is back, from the HBO show "Welcome To Derry" to the upcoming remake of "The Running Man" his name is back in the pop culture spotlight once again, but something else happened recently that involved the prolific author.

Bruno Soler and Adriana Blasquez traveled all the way from Brazil, to come to Bangor, to see King's iconic home, then things got more interesting, when Bruno got down on one knee and asked for Adriana's hand in marriage!

Spoiler Alert: She said yes!

There is no denying that Stephen King has a rabid, cult-like fan base because people from all over the world stop to gawk, and take photos and videos of his home on West Broadway in Bangor.

From putting on goofy masks, and dancing out in the middle of the road (we don't recommend this), to putting creepy music behind a video they take there, that house seems to bring out the fun, and in some cases, weirdness in everyone.

I live in the same neighborhood, so I am a bit jaded by all this, seeing that I drive by it just about every single day, and without fail, there is always someone parked on the side of the road, snapping pictures of this iconic home.

Most visitors are BIG fans of the prolific author, who has penned more than 60 novels, many of which have been made into hugely successful feature films.

King is a Mainer of course, and started living in Bangor around 1980. His home has been an attraction ever since then. The outside iron gates of this Bangor estate makes it obvious that it is his house.

There are bat-winged creatures and spider detailing on the tall fence, which clearly gives it all away.

Fans come from all around the world to stand in front of this epic house to take photos. But these days, Stephen, and his wife Tabitha, for the most part, now live in their second home in Florida for more privacy.

If you have ever had a photo op in front of the house, feel free to share your picture. In fact, we put together an entire gallery full of them, since it just seems to be a thing to do when you come to Bangor!

Thousands of King fans visit Bangor every year, and it seems all of them go to his house on West Broadway. (Yes, that's on the list.) But the city features many landmarks that appear in some shape or form in one or more of King's stories.
