Prices at the pumps around New England have risen slightly over the past week.

Gas prices in Maine rose 1.8 cents per gallon in the last week to an average $2.59 a gallon. Prices at most stations in Presque Isle were at $2.72 as of Tuesday.

Next door in New Hampshire, pump prices went up 2.5 cents a gallon to $2.52 a gallon.In Vermont, the price of gasoline actually decreased by less than a penny, averaging $2.61 a gallon.

Nationally, gas prices were up 27.6 cents a gallon from last month, averaging $2.74 a gallon. That's 9.3 cents a gallon higher than at this time last year.
