The Aroostook Aspirations Initiative recently held its annual LAUNCH Scholar Success Program at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Presentations by many County business leaders were held with topics ranging from stress management to college survival and goals.

The LAUNCH program was designed for college freshmen and conceived to anticipate the needs of these young adults in the early post-secondary academic years. The students attended workshops such as Time Management and Financial Planning to help obtain skills they can use in college and beyond. A Speed Networking workshop introduced students to leaders in their chosen fields.

Sandy Gauvin, President and co-founder of Aroostook Aspirations Initiative, says the LAUNCH Scholar Success Program was created to give scholars the tools they need to get a quality college education in Aroostook County while, at the same time, keeping their college debt low.

Gauvin Scholars of 2019 will get together at the Night with the Stars Fundraising Gala on September 12 and will also participate in the second year ADVANCE program in 2020, where they will participate in programs such as résumé writing, interview preparation and further networking.
