CONFIRMED: Renys To Open Bangor, Maine Store in 2024
Bangor buyers' hearts were buzzing earlier this week when a Renys truck was spotted parked next to the empty Christmas Tree Shop building along Springer Drive.
Word of what that could possibly mean spread like wildfire, as people passed along the news.
But at that point, it was just speculation, as neither Renys nor the current building owner, Harnum Holding, had issued any statements.
Well, as they soon discovered, due to everyone's enthusiasm for the potential of a Renys up in the Bangor area, you can't really put the lid back on a jar of excited bees. The news was out there, and if they were hoping to keep it hush-hush, that cat was out of the bag and running around it in circles.
So, Friday they came out and dealt with the situation head-on, and put any questions or speculation straight to bed.
Renys will indeed be opening a Bangor location, in the old Christmas Tree Shop location on Springer Drive in 2024!
From their own website: "Renys Is Coming To Bangor in 2024!"
"We are excited to add another Renys location to our group of stores – We have been wanting to expand in the Bangor region and are happy to have found a wonderful location," John Reny, President of R.H. Reny, said in a news release.
The Bangor store will mark the 18th store in the state for Renys, which also has shops in Bath, Belfast, Bridgton, Camden, Damariscotta, Dexter, Ellsworth, Farmington, Gardiner, Madison, Pittsfield, Portland, Saco, Topsham, Wells and Windham.
The future Bangor location is about 31,000 square feet and will need some updates and renovations. As they have not yet filed for any permits with the City of Bangor, it's like that's something that will take place after this holiday season, in the New Year.
Judging by the comment sections all over local social media sites, there will be no shortage of excited Bangor shoppers when those doors do finally open for business.
Welcome to town, Renys.
