Red Sox Beat Astros 4-1 [VIDEO]

The Boston Red Sox ended their 6-game road trip with a 4-1 win over the Houston Astros on Wednesday, August 21st. The win insured that the Red Sox went 4-2 on the road trip.

In what was a "bullpen game" for the Red Sox, Cooper Criswell started and lasted 4.2 innings, allowing 4 hits and 1 run. He struck out 4 and walked 1.

Josh Winckowski picked up the win, pitching the 6th inning and is now 4-1 on the season.

Brennan Bernadino struck out who struck out Yordan Alvarez on just 3 pitches with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 7th inning to escape a jam.

Chris Martin picked up his 1st save of the season.

At the plate Jarren Duran had a double, his 39th of the season. He reached based 3 times, walking twice. Ceddanne Rafaela was 2-4 with a pair of doubles, driving in 2 runs.

David Hamilton hit a solo homer in the 9th inning, his 8th of the season.

Masataka Yoshida was 2-4.

Boston is off on Thursday. They open a 8-game homestand with the Arizona Diamondbacks  (Friday-Sunday) and then 5 games with the Toronto Blue Jays (Monday-Thursday) including a day/night doubleheader on Monday August 26th. Friday night's pregame begins at 6:10 with the 1st pitch at 7:10 p.m. on AM 1370 WDEA.
