Presque Isle’s New City Manager Resigned
One month after being hired as Presque Isle’s new city manager, Tyler Brown has abruptly resigned from the position.
Brown quietly left the Presque Isle City Council meeting on Wednesday evening, then sent a letter to the council on Thursday saying he did not want to continue as city manager, citing personal reasons.
In his resignation letter, Brown told the Presque Isle city council, “I have come to realize that I may not be the best fit for this role. I believe there are alternate individuals who might be better suited and provide the loyalty you are desiring.”
Tyler Brown called Presque Isle a “wonderful community” and said he was grateful for the opportunity to serve.
His resignation was effective immediately, but he offered to stay on until a new manager can be chosen.
Newly elected City Councilor James Carroll also resigned following the council meeting, citing disagreements over how the city’s industrial council is handled.
