Police Investigate Murder-Suicide in Presque Isle [UPDATE]
State Police are investigating a domestic homicide-suicide in Presque Isle that left a man and a child dead early Sunday morning.
Presque Isle police officers responded to an emergency call at a home at 728 Reach Road on Saturday night, according to Stephen McCausland of the Maine Department of Public Safety. Members of the State Police tactical team and negotiators also arrived overnight.
Police entered the home early in the morning and found two bodies inside: one an adult male and the other a child, McCausland said. The bodies have been taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta for autopsies.
The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit and evidence technicians plan to return to the home on Monday and additional information will be released once autopsies are completed.
The Aroostook County Sheriff's Office is assisting in the investigation, along with the Presque Isle Police Department.
