Police Investigate Death of Edmundston Woman [UPDATE]

Following a preliminary investigation, the Edmundston Police Force has ruled out the possibility of a criminal act following the death of a 27-year-old woman in Edmundston on Monday evening.

Police and emergency personnel were called to a residence on Saint-François Street around 7:45 p.m., after a young woman was reported to be in respiratory arrest. Edmundston Police say the woman could not be resuscitated.

Although the investigation is ongoing, police say they do not suspect any acts of a criminal nature. An autopsy is being  performed to determine the exact cause of death.

The name of the woman will not be revealed until her relatives have been notified.
