State and local police are investigating after a man’s body was found inside a Presque Isle residence over the weekend.

The following is a statement from statement from Lt.Troy Gardner, who oversees the northern division of the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit:

At approximately 4:15 [Sunday] afternoon the Presque Isle Police Department received a report of a deceased person inside the residence located at 11 Washburn Road in Presque Isle.

Officers responded to the call, entered the residence and located a deceased adult male.

Based on their observations, they then contacted the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit.

Uniform personnel from Troop F along with Detectives responded to the residence and began the investigative process.

At this point, we have members of our Evidence Response Team at the Washburn Road address processing the residence and collecting evidence.

Our focus today will be on completing our work at the residence and removing the deceased.  The deceased will be taken to the Medical Examiner’s office in Augusta where an autopsy will be conducted.  The autopsy may not be completed until tomorrow.

At this point, we are still working on identifying the deceased.

We are asking for anyone who has information about what may have happened at the 11 Washburn Road address to contact State Police in Houlton at 532-5400 or by stopping by the Presque Isle Police Department.

Anyone with information can ask to speak to Sgt. Darrin Crane who is the lead investigator.”
