Presque Isle Police arrested two people on drug charges and detained a third person following a brief car chase early Thursday morning.

At around 2:00 a.m. Officer Tyler Cote attempted to stop a vehicle on the Connector Road in Presque Isle, police say. The vehicle reportedly failed to stop and took off at a high rate of speed. As the vehicle was turning into a parking lot off Dragon Drive, it slid into a snowbank.

Cpl. Lucas Hafford and Officer Tonya Alexander responded to assist Officer Cote. Police say two people inside the vehicle, a male and a female, were identified and detained.

Another male suspect fled on foot and was apprehended a short distance away. He was also detained and was later turned over to the US Border Patrol for allegedly entering the United States illegally.
