Pharrell Welcomes Triplets
Congrats are in order for Pharrell. The 43-year-old musician and his wife Helen Lasichanh have welcomed a set of triplets to their family.
Lasichanh gave birth in early January, and Pharrell's rep confirmed the news with Vanity Fair today (Jan. 31). The rep declined to mention the triplets' sexes or names, but the family is reportedly "happy and healthy."
Pharrell and Lasichanh also have an 8-year-old son together named Rocket. In 2014, Pharrell sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey and said, "In the same way the Indians named their children after a force or animal or element, we named him after a man-made machine that was meant to go up, meant to ascend."
Congratulations to the new couple and the happy family. In other Pharrell-related news, it was recently announced that the Virginia artist is slated to appear on Thundercat's upcoming album, which is dropping on Feb. 24. Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins are also expected to appear on the album, called Drunk.
Prior to that announcement, A Tribe Called Quest went on the Drink Champs podcast and revealed an extremely interesting bit of information. According to Q-Tip, Pharrell almost appeared on A Tribe Called Quest's legendary album Midnight Marauders. Skateboard P actually recorded a verse for the project, but it ended up getting taken off prior to its official release.
