One Man Died & Two Injured after Car Hits Tree

State Police say one man was killed and two others injured in a one car crash Saturday night on the Hill Road in Canaan.

55-year-old Scott Miller of Clinton died from the accident. He was a passenger in a car driven by 44-year-old David Johnson of Clinton.

Johnson, and a second passenger, 58-year-old Robert Archer, also from Clinton, were injured in the wreck.

The crash took place about 7 PM when the 2004 Ford Mustang convertible went off the road and struck a tree head on.

Troopers are looking at alcohol as a factor of the crash.

Hill Road was closed for about five hours while the scene was investigated. Assisting troopers were Somerset Sheriff’s Deputies and the Canaan Fire Department.
