RCMP say shortly after 5 p.m., two men wearing masks entered the bank armed with a weapon. No money was taken and no one was injured.

The police investigation led to the arrest of a 36-year-old suspect at around midnight outside a residence on Stoneham Drive. He was arrested without incident and is to appear in Moncton provincial court Thursday afternoon, according to Sgt. Aurèle Pelletier.

Police continue to seek information about the second suspect, who was wearing a Pinhead mask similar to the one seen in an attempted bank robbery that took place at the National Bank at 1556 Mountain Road on Tuesday. He is described as being about 5'10”, with a light build, and was wearing a blue hoodie and dark-coloured pants.

“We are continuing to investigate this most recent robbery, along with other armed robberies that have occurred in the Greater Moncton area,” says Sgt. Pelletier. “We are asking that anyone who may have been in the vicinity of those incidents or who may have seen anything that may help investigators to call the Codiac Regional RCMP.”
