The Maine Attorney General’s office is investigating a fatal shooting by a police officer in Hampden last night.

Meanwhile, a young man from western Maine is recovering from gunshot wounds after being shot by a state trooper on Saturday.

A family of ducks crossing the Vanier Highway in Fredericton Sunday afternoon caused two separate crashes involving five vehicles that sent one person to hospital.

Officials say traffic deaths are down in Maine.  The Bureau of Highway Safety reports 42 people have died on Maine roads so far this year.

The York County Jail in Southern Maine is proposing to end in-person visits between inmates and their families and friends to cut down on the amount of drugs and other contraband being smuggled in.

It was the third wet weekend in a row across northern Maine and New Brunswick.
