A private Maine school is mourning the loss of a student today.  Foxcroft Academy officials say that 17-year-old Dacano Arno died in a swimming accident last evening in Sebec Village.

The National Weather Service said a tornado did touch down in Aroostook County Sunday afternoon, cutting  a path about 50 yards wide and 80 yards long.

Meanwhile, Environment Canada says there is no evidence of a tornado actually touching down in north western New Brunswick on Sunday.

The Maine House has approved a bill to expand the state's Medicaid program to include roughly 70,000 more people, a key component of the national Affordable Care Act.

Bath Iron Works has been awarded a $2.8 billion contract to build four Arleigh Burke Class destroyers over the next five years with the option to build a fifth ship.

Business leaders throughout the area are invited to a special forum tomorrow morning at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. The Aroostook Employer Forum: Maine's Untapped Workforce, will be taking place from 8:30 to 12:30 on Wednesday.
