As the average price of gas dropped nationally, prices at the pump around northern New England showed mixed results.

According to the latest report from GasBuddy.com, prices here in Maine remained unchanged from last week's average of $2.52 a gallon. Most stations in Presque Isle were showing a price of $2.56 a gallon as of Monday morning, a drop of a nickel over last week.

New Hampshire's gas prices dropped 1.8 cents, to an average $2.43 a gallon while the price of gas in Vermont rose 1.3 cents to $2.62 a gallon on average.

The average price of gasoline across the nation fell 5.1 cents in the last week, to an average $2.58 a gallon. That's down 6.3 cents per gallon in the last month, and is 22.4 cents a gallon lower than a year ago.
