Police say a 19-year-old woman has been arrested following the seizure of a large quantity of illegal pills on the TransCanada Highway near Saint-Jacques, New Brunswick.

The Saint-Léonard RCMP conducted a routine traffic stop on Highway 2 around 2:30 a.m. last Saturday, according to Corporal Tony Dunphy.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 75,000 pills, thought to be methamphetamine, Dunphy said.

The woman, who is from Montreal, was released and will appear in court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing by West District RCMP.
