Two men were arrested and charged with Aggravated Drug Trafficking after drugs, firearms and cash was seized in Dixfield.

Two Men Charged with Aggravated Drug Trafficking

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said 33-year-old Kenneth McCoullum from Portland was charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Drug Trafficking, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person and Violation of Conditional Release.

Also arrested was 38-year-old Joshua Campbell from Dixfield was charged with Aggravated Drug Trafficking and Obstruction of Government Administration.

Undercover Purchases and Search Warrant

Undercover purchases were made at Campbell’s residence as part of a two month investigation. Agents executed a search warrant on April 1 at 57B High Street home.

Man Tried to Prevent Agents from Entering Home

“Campbell physically attempted to block entry inside but was subsequently taken into custody,” said MDEA.

Suspect Tried to Destroy Drugs in Bathroom

McCoullum attempted to flee out a second-floor window. He “tossed a firearm he had in his hand before returning inside. Agents confronted McCoullum in a second-floor bathroom where he was attempting to destroy several bags of illegal drugs,” said MDEA. He was apprehended and arrested.

Drugs, Guns and Cash Seized

Agents seized approximately 225 grams of cocaine and crack, 10 grams of fentanyl, assorted unidentified capsules and pills, three loaded firearms and $ 4,350 in drug proceeds.

Transported to Jail

Both men were taken to the Oxford County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
