Trooper Matthew Curtain went to the residence of a 17-year-old male in Mars Hill Saturday morning to investigate an unrelated incident, according to a news release from Corporal Dennis Quint.

While at the residence, Trooper Curtain observed several traffic and town line signs inside the house. The juvenile allegedly said his father had previously had the signs in his possession.

State Police seized the road signs and the juvenile was issued a criminal summons for Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer. Because of the cost of the signs, the charge is a felony, Quint said.

The juvenile’s parents were notified and he is to appear in court in Presque Isle.
