Mariah Carey released "All I Want For Christmas Is You" on October 29, 1994, and the holiday music canon was forever changed. Though the song was an instant classic, it shockingly never topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Until now.

Over 25 years after its initial release, the Queen of Christmas finally received her official crown when the track hit No. 1. Though the feat is impressive on its own, it also marks the pop icon's 19th chart topping hit, extending her record of most No. 1 singles recorded by a solo artist.

Mimi acknowledged the long-awaited milestone with an emoji-filled Twitter post. "We did it" she wrote alongside a crying emoji, heart emoji, ram emoji, christmas tree emoji and butterfly emoji.

"All I Want For Christmas" is the first holiday song to top the chart since The Chipmunks' "The Chipmunk Song" hit No. 1 in 1958-59, which was a whopping 61 years ago. The surge in sales could be in part due to Carey recently releasing a 25th Anniversary edition of Merry Christmas; however, her hit holiday song gets a nice surge every year.
