On April 1st, police say Mitchell Hanning was driving a car suspected of being involved in a theft, when he was stopped by Aroostook County Sheriff's Deputies in Caribou. Hanning was charged at that time with operating after suspension, and then freed on bail.

The car was impounded and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency's lab team determined that there were indeed meth-making materials and components in the vehicle as well as other drugs.

Police began searching for Hanning last week with probable cause for his arrest on felony drug charges.

Hanning turned himself in Tuesday at the Presque Isle Police Department. He is being held at the Aroostook County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.
