
Man Charged with Assaulting a Woman in a Wheelchair in Maine
A 45-year-old man was arrested and charged with assaulting a woman in a wheelchair in Bangor.
Police Responded to Assault on Main Street
Police were called to do a welfare check after the victim had apparently fallen out of the wheelchair on Main Street around 10 pm on Thursday.
Woman Fell Out of Wheelchair and Man Charged with Assault
Officers learned from the investigation that Christopher Genge from Bangor had allegedly assaulted the woman and caused her to fall out of her wheelchair.
Suspect Stole Woman’s Hat
Genge had also taken the woman’s hat at the time of the assault.

Man was Wearing Woman’s Hat after the Assault
Police located him still in the area and wearing the woman’s hat.
Suspect Resisted Arrest and was Uncooperative
He resisted arrest and was uncooperative as he was taken into custody.

Man Charged with Assault and Refusing to Submit to Arrest
Genge was charged with assault, unauthorized taking or transfer, refusing to submit to arrest or detention, disorderly conduct and violating the conditions of release.

Taken to County Jail and Charged
He was transported to the Penobscot County Jail and booked.
