Man Wanted for Sexual Assault Fought & Injured Police in Maine

A 38-year-old wanted man was arrested and charged after assaulting and injuring several officers in Maine.

Warrant for Gross Sexual Assault

Matthew Moscillo had an indictment warrant for Gross Sexual Assault, Unlawful Sexual Contact, and Unlawful Sexual Touching. The charges were from 2025.

Work Place Under Surveillance as Part of Investigation

The Scarborough Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and Special Enforcement Unit had Moscillo’s place of work under surveillance and saw him arrive at work around 9:20 am Thursday.

Physically Resisted and Injured Officers

“Moscillo physically resisted officers during the arrest, resulting in injuries to several officers,” according to Scarborough PD.

Taken to County Jail and Facing More Charges

He was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland County Jail.

Moscillo was booked on the warrant and additional charges including Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention with Force Causing Injury.
