
Man Arrested and 4 Injured after Shots Fired & Chase in Maine
One man was arrested and four people were injured after shots were fired and a police chase and crash in Mechanic Falls.
Shots Fired and Police Pursuit
The Maine State Police said several shots were fired on Park Street in Paris, Maine around 11:33 pm Wednesday. A blue SUV fled the area and led police on a high-speed pursuit.
Spike Mat and Crash
“A spike mat was successfully deployed, and the vehicle ultimately crashed in a field on Route 26 in Mechanic Falls terminating the pursuit,” said the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Driver Arrested
Troopers arrested the driver, 24-year-old Luis Andres Lorenzo Rondon from Lawrence, Massachusetts. Three passengers were also in the vehicle.
Four Hurt after Crash
All four were taken to Central Maine Medical Center with injuries after the crash. Three were released after treatment.
Multiple Charges
Rondon was taken into custody and charged with Eluding an Officer, Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon (vehicle), Driving to Endanger and Criminal Speeding.
No Injuries from Shots Fired
No injuries were reported related to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
