A man was airlifted after suffering a leg injury in a remote area of Long Pond Township near Jackman.
Airlifted Out of Remote Area
The Jackman - Moose River Fire & Rescue Department said the Maine Forest Service helicopter airlifted the New York man on Monday.
First Responders Hiked Rough Terrain to Reach Man
EMTs, firefighters, Maine Game Wardens, US Border Patrol Agents, and a North East Mobile Health Service paramedic hiked to the remote location in very rough terrain to administer aid.
Wife and Friends Tended to Injured Man
The man’s wife and several friends were tending to him as first responders arrived on the scene.
Flown to Hospital
The man was flown to a nearby ambulance where he was airlifted by LifeFlight to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
