Maine Suspect In The Alleged Killing Of Somerset County Police Officer In Custody
A Maine man, who authorities believe is the suspect who shot and killed a Somerset County Police officer is in custody.
After a four day search with more than 200 law enforcement officers and public help, John D. Williams, 29, was taken into custody at a camp located off of 139 in Norridgewock, according to the Somerset County Sheriff's Facebook Page.
WMTW reported that Somerset County Sheriff, Dale P. Lancaster was relieved to inform the community that suspect was brought into custody at 12:43 p.m. today.
John D. Williams was wanted in connection with the shooting death of Somerset County Sheriff's Cpl. Eugene Cole.
Sheriff Lancaster thanks the citizens and businesses for the food, refreshments, and emotional support throughout the operation.
