A soldier who lost four limbs during an explosion during the war in Afghanistan is opening a summer retreat to help others who have suffered from war injuries.

The Maine Chance Lodge & Retreat is located in the Belgrade Lakes region in Maine and built in 1929 by Revlon's Elizabeth Arden. Arden used to entertain big celebrities like Judy Garland, Ava Gardner, and former first lady Mamie Eisenhower.

During the Depression, Arden employed hundreds of people on her 1200 acre land. However, the estate found itself in disrepair and in need of a makeover.

After much renovation, repair, and remodeling and at a price tag of about 2.75 million, the estate will now be a retreat for some of America's bravest and best who have suffered from war injuries.

The retreat is scheduled to be dedicated this weekend.
