Maine Deputies Saw the Camper When They Were at a Separate Investigation
The discovery of the camper was pure luck, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office. Deputies received a report of a stolen camper trailer from a property in Lee on September 9th but it was over a week before they found that camper during an unrelated matter at a property in Drew Plantation. It just so happened that the deputy who was investigating the theft in Lee was also on the call in Drew Plantation and noticed the stolen camper parked at the back of the property.
More Charges are Pending for the Person(s) Who Stole the Camper
Deputies returned to the Drew Plantation property on September 17th with a search warrant and confirmed the camper was the one stolen from Lee. Several people were on the property and officials were able to identify the people who had put the camper at that location. Charges are pending for the person(s) involved in the theft of the camper, whose names have not been released. Additional crimes related to the camper were discovered and officials say additional charges are probable. Stanley's arrest was unrelated to the camper trailer but was taken into custody on the warrants.
