Incident Type: OAS Date: 11/13/2017 Town: FRENCHVILLE Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle in Frenchville for not having a rear window. During the stop, Tr. Desrosier discovered the male driver was operating after suspension and that the driver’s physician had requested his license be suspended. The man was issued a summons for OAS and he made arrangements to have a licensed driver come get him and his vehicle.

Incident Type: DEFECTIVE VEHICLE Date: 11/14/2017 Town: SAINT AGATHA Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle for excessive exhaust noise in Saint Agatha. During the stop, Tr. Desrosier determined that the vehicle was not safe to be on the road due to multiple mechanical defects to include a broken frame. Tr. Desrosier issued the male driver a criminal summons for operating a defective motor vehicle and had the pickup towed from the roadway.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 11/14/2017 Town: PATTEN Trooper: TR. ADAMS Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams went to an address in Patten to look for a male with an active warrant. The male was located at the address. The male was arrested without incident and transported to the Aroostook County Jail and book in on the class E warrant.

Incident Type: FIREARM BY A FELON Date: 11/15/2017 Town: MONTICELLO Trooper: CPL. QUINT Brief Synopsis: Sgt. Clark and Cpl. Quint responded to an address in Monticello for a man confronting a wrecker service employee that was repossessing a vehicle and was carrying a pistol. The wrecker operator was not threatened with the weapon but called the State Police because the man’s demeanor was strange and was concerned the situation would escalate. The wrecker operator told the Troopers he was not threatened and could remove the vehicle before they arrived. Further investigation revealed the man was a prohibited from possessing firearms and was on bail for Terrorizing, DV Assault, and DV Terrorizing. The man denied possessing the weapon but it was located under the couch. Cpl. Quint arrested the man and transported him to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Incident Type: EXPIRED LICENSE/SPEED Date: 11/15/2017 Town: SAINT JOHN Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle in Saint John Plantation for speeding and making an illegal/unsafe pass. During the stop, Tr. Desrosier discovered the female driver had an expired driver’s license over 90 days. Tr. Desrosier issued the woman a criminal summons for operating with an expired driver’s license and a traffic summons for speeding. She was issued a warning for the unsafe pass and was cautioned about her driving habits.

Incident Type: VIOLATION OF BAIL Date: 11/15/2017 Town: OAKFIELD Trooper: TR. ADMAS TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams went to a residence in Oakfield to perform a bail check on the male that lived there. It was determined that the male had been consuming alcohol and was in violation if his bail. The male was arrested without incident and transported to the Aroostook County Jail and Charged with VCR. Tr. Adams was assisted by Tr. Pescitelli.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 11/17/2017 Town: FRENCHVILLE Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin arrested a Frenchville man for operating under the influence of alcohol just after midnight. The man was stopped for a loud exhaust and was arrested after performing poorly on field sobriety tests.

Incident Type: CRASH Date: 11/17/2017 Town: LITTLETON Trooper: TR. CASAVANT SGT. HAINES Brief Synopsis: On November 17, 2017 at approximately 7:20 P.M. the Maine State Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a horse. Investigation revealed two separate vehicles struck the horse. Brian McDougal was operating a 2017 Subaru when a horse ran into the roadway and struck the passenger side of his vehicle causing damage. Shortly after McDougal struck the horse, a 1986 Peterbilt trailer truck driven by Geary Bonville struck the horse causing damage. Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene. The owner of the horse had the horse dispatched by a neighbor due the injuries it sustained. Tr. Nick Casavant is the primary investigator and was assisted at the scene by Sgt. Josh Haines as well as Houlton Police Department.

Incident Type: BURGLARY Date: 11/18/2017 Town: HAYNESVILLE Trooper: TR. SYLVIA Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sylvia responded to a camp in Haynesville when a camp owner reported his camp had been burglarized. Tr. Sylvia started the investigation into the incident and the investigation is active and ongoing.

Incident Type: ACCIDENT - SERIOUS INJURY Date: 11/18/2017 Town: WESTFIELD Trooper: TR. KILCOLLINS Brief Synopsis: Sgt. Clark and Tr. Kilcollins responded to a crash in Westfield where a driver was injured. The area received freezing rain which caused the roads to ice over. The woman was driving south on US Highway 1 when she lost control of her vehicle on the icy roads and it rolled over. While investigating that crash several other vehicles, to include a State plow truck went off the roadway as well. There were no life-threatening injuries during these crashes. Rt. 1 was closed for about 4 hours while road crews worked on the roadway.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 11/18/2017 Town: CROSS LAKE Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle in Cross Lake for swerving on the roadway. After stopping the vehicle and approaching the driver the man stuck his hands out the window yelling don’t shoot and made a racist comment. Tr. Desrosier determined the man was driving while impaired and arrested him. The man refused to provide a breath sample but agreed to provide a blood sample instead.
