Maine State Police Troop ‘F’ Weekly Report (April 16 – 22)
Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 120 calls for service this past week in and around Aroostook County. Here is a sampling from the Troop’s weekly report:
.Incident Type: OAS/ WARRANT ARREST Date: 4/15/2018 Town: CRYSTAL Trooper: TR. ADAMS Brief Synopsis: Tr Adams was patrolling in Crystal and observed a white car pull from a residence and after Tr Adams got behind the car, he noticed that the male driver was moving around in the car then pulled into a driveway. Tr Adams pulled over to observe the male who had walked near a greenhouse to talk to another male outside. A female came out of the house and flagged Tr Adams into the driveway and she told Tr Adams that the male didn’t belong at her house. Tr Adams identified the 41-year-old male and found that his license was under suspension and had an active arrest warrant. Tr Adams transported him to ACJ for the warrant and summonsed him for OAS.
Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST Date: 4/16/2018 Town: SHERMAN Trooper: TR. ADAMS Brief Synopsis: Tr Adams was patrolling in Sherman when he observed a male outside a residence working on a vehicle. Tr Adams recognized the 52-year-old male and was aware that the male had an active arrest warrant. Tr Adams arrested the male on the warrant and transported him to ACJ
Incident Type: OAS/WARRANT Date: 4/17/2018 Town: MARS HILL Trooper: TR. KILCOLLINS Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins observed a vehicle in Mars Hill that was not displaying a valid certificate of inspection. Tr. Kilcollins stopped the vehicle and learned that the female driver had a suspended driver’s license and had a warrant for her arrest for failing to appear in court. Tr. Kilcollins issued the woman a criminal summons for the charge of OAS and arrested her on the warrant. The woman could not post bail and was booked into the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.
Incident Type: TRAFFIC SUMMONS Date: 4/18/2018 Town: ALLAGASH Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin stopped a vehicle on Dickey Rd. in Allagash for operating without equipment as required by law. (Tires exceeded fender flares.) Tr. Curtin identified the driver as someone he had addressed this issue with a warning about 6 months prior. Through the investigation, the driver admitted he used regular tires to obtain a current inspection sticker, and then removed them and put the old ones back on after. Tr. Curtin issued the man a criminal summons for Altercation of Motor Vehicle after inspection with a June court date in Fort Kent, and cited him for not having proof of insurance. Type Narrative Here
Incident Type: TRAFFIC ARREST Date: 4/18/2018 Town: ST JOHN Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin Stopped a vehicle for not displaying an inspection sticker on Saint John Rd. in Saint John. Tr. Curtin learned the female driver did not possess a license to operate a motor vehicle. Tr. Curtin arrested her and transported her to Fort Kent PD charging her with Operating without a License. Bail commissioner was contacted and she was released with a Fort Kent court date in June.
Incident Type: BAIL VIOLATION Date: 4/18/2018 Town: EAGLE LAKE Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin stopped a vehicle for 80 in a 50 on Rt. 11 in Eagle Lake. Tr. Curtin learned the driver was currently on bail relating to an OUI charge. Tr. Curtin issued the man criminal summonses for criminal speed and VCR with a June court date in Fort Kent.
Incident Type: ALCOHOL VIOLATION Date: 4/19/2018 Town: WALLAGRASS Trooper: TR STOUTAMYER/ TR PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Tr Stoutamyer responded to a residence in Wallagrass for what was reported as a large underage drinking party. Tr Stoutamyer and Tr Pescitelli responded and found that minors were at the residence and had been drinking, Tr Stoutamyer summonsed the 23-year-old male homeowner for providing a place for minors to consume alcohol.
Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST Date: 4/19/2018 Town: NEW SWEDEN Trooper: TR. STOUTAMYER Brief Synopsis: Tr Stoutamyer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Rt. 161 in New Sweden. Tr Stoutamyer found that the 32-year-old male driver had a warrant for his arrest for failing to appear in court. Tr Stoutamyer arrested the male and transported him to ACJ.
Incident Type: ILLEGAL ATTACHMENT OF PLATES/ WARRANT ARREST Date: 4/20/2018 Town: HODGDON Trooper: TR. BELL Brief Synopsis: Tr Bell was parked and observed a pickup stop at a residence, pick up a male and drive off. Tr Bell ran the registration plate and found that it did not belong on the Ford pickup. Tr Bell conducted a traffic stop and the 56-year-old male driver admitted to having illegally attached the plates. The male passenger gave Tr Bell a false name, Tr Bell recognized the male and knew him. After admitting as to who he was Tr Bell discovered that the 37-year-old male had a warrant for his arrest. Tr Bell arrested the male on the warrant and summonsed the driver for illegal attachment of plates. Sgt. Fuller assisted at the scene with K-9 Gleni for a drug search of the vehicle.
Incident Type: TRAFFIC SUMMONS Date: 4/21/2018 Town: FRENCHVILLE Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin Stopped a vehicle on Rt. 1 in Frenchville for operating without equipment as required by law. (Tires exceeded body of truck/no fender flares.) Tr. Curtin identified the driver as someone he had warned for this about 2 weeks prior. Again, the driver admitted he used regular wheels and tires to obtain a current inspection sticker, and then removed them and put the old set back on after. Tr. Curtin issued the man a Criminal summons for Altercation of Motor Vehicle after inspection, with a June court date in Fort Kent.
Incident Type: OAS Date: 4/21/2018 Town: CHAPMAN Trooper: TR. STOUTAMYER Brief Synopsis: Tr Stoutamyer was dispatched to Chapman for a male subject that the ambulance service had found sleeping in a vehicle. Tr Stoutamyer responded to the vehicle and found that the registration had expired last year. The 48-year-old male was also under suspension. Tr Stoutamyer summonsed the male for OAS and the registration violation.
Incident Type: THEFT Date: 4/22/2018 Town: NEW SWEDEN Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin stopped a vehicle for a plate lite out on Rt. 1 in Fort Kent. Tr. Curtin discovered the vehicle’s registration expired in September of 2017. Tr. Curtin issued the operator a criminal summons for Failure to Register MV >150 days with a June Fort Kent court Date and issued a warning for the plate light.
