Police say the 30-year-old suspect struck another vehicle while driving in Shapleigh Saturday, then fled the scene. WCSH-TV reports the passengers of the other vehicle were injured in the collision.

When he was located, officials say the suspect told responders he wasn't the driver of the vehicle from the accident. State troopers and K-9 units backtracked the suspect's steps into nearby woods and found a large duffel bag full of various drugs.

Eventually the suspect confessed to driving the vehicle that led to the accident and dumping the duffel bag. He is facing multiple charges, including unlawful possession of drugs.
