Maine Ranks As Top State For Access In Health Care
Access to health care seems to be front and center on the minds of many in America. If you live in Maine, then access doesn't seem to be a problem.
According to our friends at WalletHub.com, Maine is the number one state in the nation where access to health care is concerned.
According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the average American pays nearly $10,000 per year in health care costs. Some experts believe that that amount will increase over time.
WalletHub.com recently crunched the numbers and did the research of all 50 states, to include Washington D.C., and found the worst and best states for health care. After looking at 35 different measures, including cost, outcomes, and accessibility, this is what they found.
Although Maine came in first for access to health care, the Pine Tree State ranked 14th overall. Maine ranked 17th in reference to cost and 26th in outcomes.
The number one ranked state over all was Hawaii and the worst state for health care in America was Louisiana.
Looks like Maine still has some work to do, where health care is concerned, but I'm sure we're all up to the challenge in the end.
