Police say the bus packed with students from Colby College in Waterville, Maine was stopped at about 1 a.m. Sunday in Oakland.

Sgt. Tracey Frost tells the Morning Sentinel that Breathalyzer tests showed 22 passengers ages 18 to 20 had been drinking. Two were also charged with forgery for signing fake names on their citations.

Ten students of legal drinking age were not charged.

The driver received only a written warning for the speeding offense.

Police say the students had hired the bus to take them to a party in the town of Rome.

Those cited are due in court on Dec. 17.
