A Maine man accused of setting three fires in one day has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges against him.

Auburn Man Faces Four Felony Charges of Arson

Johnny Briggs Jr., 53, of Auburn pleaded not guilty on Monday to four counts of felony arson, as well as misdemeanor charges of aggravated criminal mischief, and failure to control or report a dangerous fire.

Fire Locations Included 2 Businesses and a Historical Building from the 1700s

The charges stem from three fires in Auburn on October 14, 2023. According to WGME-TV, the first fire was on the property of Dunkin' on Riverside Drive. Briggs is accused of setting that fire and then starting another fire on the historical property of The Knight House, which was built in the late 1700s. A third fire occurred on the property of Gritty McDuff's Brew Pub on Main Street in Auburn.
