Money Rates.com had an article that caught my eye, it was titled 'Top 10 Best and Worst States To Be Rich'. Being rich in this article was deemed as earning $90,060 per year, that would put you into the top ten percent of wage earners in the country. In forming their list, they factored top-tier income levels, tax rates and property crime.

Maine made one of their Top Ten lists, unfortunately it was the Top Ten Worst State to be Rich list.

Maine ranked as the 10th worst state to be rich. Why? In the article, here's what they had to say about Maine. 'Despite a relatively low property crime rate, Maine's wealthy have one of the highest tax burdens in the country, and the standard for top 10 percent incomes is also well below that of most other states.'

The best state to be rich? Virginia. The worst state to be rich? Arkansas.
