Maine Governor LePage Addresses Tax Cuts in YouTube Video

More than 70,000 Mainers won’t have to pay taxes in the new year thanks to Maine’s tax cuts reform. Gov. LePage published a five minute video on YouTube addressing the reform. He also asked Democrats to support even more cuts in 2013.

‘‘This represents the largest tax cut in Maine history,’’ LePage said. ‘‘For Democrats to call this a tax cut for the rich is simply not true.’’

However, State-President Justin Alfond, issues a statement that said Gov. LePage is refusing to meet with Democratic leadership.

‘‘We hope in the days that follow that we can sit down with the governor and engage in a thoughtful conversation about how to move Maine forward,’’ Alfond says.
