We have the inside information about how to find in-person Girl Scout cookie sales in your neighborhood.

Did You Get Your Girl Scout Cookies Yet?

Buying the delicious once-a-year cookies was easy for my husband and me this year because his niece was selling them. We bought five boxes and, I hate to admit, made very short work of them. Now, we'd like to get a few more boxes to tuck into the cupboard. (Yeah, right. They'll last a day...maybe two) But, once the ordering process is over and the cookies come in, how do you find more?

How Do I Get Them If I Missed the Ordering Deadline?

It's actually really easy. There's an online search engine that can connect you with cookies in your neighborhood or, at the very least, a short drive away. When I was a Girl Scout (in the dark ages), people either put their orders in during the cookie drive, or they were out of luck. Now, the cookies are being sold in pop-up locations around the state. I walked out of Brewer Walmart yesterday and saw a table set up outside, with a group of smiling young women handing over Samoas, Thin Mints, and all the other amazing cookie flavors.

To get your cookies, just go to the Maine Girls Scouts website and enter your zip code into the Cookie Finder search engine. A list of locations will appear, with days and times that the treats will be on sale. It's just that easy.

Are Girl Scouts About More Than Cookies?

You'll also find a lot of information there about the Girl Scouts and how to get involved. I was a Girl Scout into my middle school years, including going to Camp Natarswi in Millinocket, in the shadow of Mt Katahdin. It's about a lot more than cookies.
