$5K Reward For Info About a Front-End Loader Stolen from Clifton
The owner of a front-end loader stolen last week is now offering a sizable reward for information that leads to the thief's conviction.
A Large Front-End Loader Was Stolen in Clifton and Driven Down Route 9
According to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, there's a good chance someone saw the crime in action when a front-end loader was reported stolen from Woodchuck Hill Road in Clifton at approximately 6:30 Saturday morning. The yellow 2004 Volvo L90 E was loaded onto a trailer and hauled away. An investigation into the theft determined it had crashed through a gate and was driven several miles down Route 9 before leaving the roadway. It was then abandoned on a stranger's property where Deputies recovered it.

The Front-End Loader's Owner is Offering a $5,000 Reward for the Thief
The owner of the front-end loader says it's used daily, so the theft greatly impacted them. They're offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for stealing it.
Penobscot County Sheriff's Officials said in a post on the department's website:
The action was reckless and very dangerous. It put the public at risk and disrupted a business's ability to operate.
They went on to state this was not a joy ride but an aggressive theft by someone who worked very hard to hide the piece of machinery.
