The Leaves Are Turning: Maine’s Latest Fall Foliage Update Is Here
It's the most wonderful time of year for those who love the fall season and football.
As much as we all love football, this post is truly about the fall, because it's time to check back in on the Maine foliage report.
Maine Fall Foliage Season is Underway
The season has officially begun, with reports dropping weekly now. According to maine.gov, "peak" season for Northern Maine is the end of September. That's followed by mid-October for Central and Western Maine, and then closer to the end of October for Southern Maine.
As we roll past mid-September, it's wonderful to see the leaves starting to change quite a bit. And thanks to the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry's Maine Foliage Report, we can see exactly where things stand.
Drumroll, please...
Apparently, Maine is celebrating the colors of the Green Bay packers this week, because the green and yellow are covering the state.
Northern and Western Maine is Heavy into the Foliage Season
It's wonderful to see that we are finally underway with a major portion of Maine officially in the season. Even though the coast is still in the green, it doesn't mean you won't be able to find foliage. It just means it still has a long way to go. But no point in rushing the season. Let's enjoy this wonderful time of year for as long as we can.
The Maine Foliage Report updates its map every week throughout the season. It's a great way to follow with what is to come. It' also a wonderful reference guide to those who will chase the foliage season all around the state. So, make sure it becomes a regular check-in for you or anyone else in your life who loves the foliage season.
