Limestone Man Charged in Violent Home Invasion

Caribou Police are investigating an armed home invasion at a home on the Access Highway.  It happened Thursday evening around 6 o’clock.  A caller to 9-1-1 reported that two masked men with hand guns had barged into his home and demanded money.

The intruders made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and other items.  Evidence gathered at the scene led Caribou Police to 25 year old Eric Mowatt of Limestone. Mowatt was arrested without incident and charged with robbery, theft and assault.

Bail for Mowatt was set at $25,000 cash. He was transported to the Aroostook County Jail with a court date of May 21. A second  suspect has not yet been located. The investigation is being conducted by Officers Matthew Cummings and Officer Keith Ouellette.
