The former Limestone Manor on Church Street recently became available after the long term care facility moved to a new home off the Access Highway.

In March, the MSSM Board of Trustees approved the acquisition of the building. Each room has its own suite complete with its own bathroom. It includes a lounge area in the front of the building with its own ping pong table, pool table and furniture.  There is also a study room, a bicycle storage room and a laundromat located in the basement.

MSSM Executive Director Luke Shorty said, "Without this new facility, we would have had to wait list another 16 or so students due to lack of room.”

Due to time restraints, the north end of the building is the only part currently being utilized.  At full capacity, the dorm will be able to house approximately 35 students at the magnet school.

“We’re seeing the interest in MSSM grow every year.  To attest to that, we already have 16 prospective families registered to attend our open house on November 9th and 10th and that’s before any advertisements,” Shorty said.

A new name for the old Limestone Manor is already in the works.  The director hopes to make the new name public before the end of the fall semester.
