If you live in New Hampshire, you know how much Guy Fieri LOVES Bobby Marcotte, a.k.a Bobby the Butcher and the Tuckaway Tavern in Raymond, New Hampshire.  Fieri has said it so much that food industry website Chowhound has created a list of 14 restaurants Guy loves that are worth visiting.  The Tuckaway is on the list.

Chowhound also looked at the Google ratings of each restaurant based on the food, atmosphere, service, and customer satisfaction.

There is one thing I need to clarify about the Chowhound article.  They describe the place as "a roadside bar & grill offers typical tavern fare."  There is nothing typical about their food.  Nothing.  Not one thing that I've ever ordered on the menu is typical, and I have to say, at this point, I've probably ordered everything at least once.

If you decide to visit the Tuckaway in Raymond, New Hampshire, here are a few tips you should know before you go:

  • If you go on Father's Day, you might need to call upon your inner "Job" (the man in the Bible who had unwavering patience).  The place is slammin' on Father's Day, so be patient and wait if you want to sit down to eat.
  • If you go into the Market and it's slammin' busy, you will be asked what you want before you are ready.  They have a LOT of staff to help you pick up those delicious house tips to take home, or the Apple Bacon sausages for your grill.
  • Try everything.  Tuckaway is one of those places with amazing food.  Just enjoy it and don't worry about the calories.
