Aliens are a pretty hot topic, after this week.

So far this week, the government has come as close to admitting there are aliens as they ever have. However, I've seen enough episodes of the X-Files to know that whatever the government is willing to admit out loud, it's only the tip of the iceberg as to what they might actually know.

On the other hand, it could be that there's so little to worry about, that they'll finally admit it out loud. But have you ever really sat and thought about what you'd do if an alien ship landed in Maine tomorrow? Would you freak out? Would you be surprised? Would you run screaming into the night?

Like good Mainers, we have definite opinions.

We put this very question out on social media, asking if Mainers could share what their initial actions and reactions would be if Little Green Men showed up here. I think overall, there's some crazy humor here, because what else would there be? No matter what anyone says on a list, it probably wouldn't reflect the reality of aliens landing.

Having to confront something in real life, that you've been told was fake your whole life, would likely set you on your ear. I know it would for me. No matter how prepared I might think I am, I'm not sure I'd deal well with that level of reality, hahaha. But since we don't totally know the whole story, it might be hard to be anything but humorous.

Let's take a deep dive right now into the minds of our fellow Mainers and see how they'd react to a close encounter of the third kind. You just might be willing to share your coffee brandy with them, while others would like to nominate other people to send into outer space. Or, we'll just be jaded like we are about everything...

Let's find out...

What's the first thing you'd do if aliens came tomorrow?

This is what Mainers would do first...
