Ladies and gentlemen, gather 'round for a tale of smelly proportions.

Within the heart of Maine lays a smell, so bad, so pungent, so disgusting, that you'll think you're in the middle of a garbage fire. What am I talking about?

The smelliest bug in town is the brown marmorated stink bug, and this insect would make a dump seem like a rose garden.

Imagine you're minding your own business and this bug crosses your path and unleashes the aromatic atomic BOMB.

Marmorated means marble-patterned because of the look of its back.

It's a pretty cool-looking camouflage that it has but don't let it fool you because, according to The Portland Press, this guy is the smelliest bug in Maine.

The brown marmorated stink bug boasts a stink that's worse than Tom Brady's game socks.

For me, squishing bugs has become an art. Listen, I am a very animal and insect-friendly person but when I get an unwanted intruder in my bathroom while I am getting into the shower, I am going to murder it.

But think twice before squashing one of these guys because the aroma that will be unleashed will send you outside immediately.

There's more too. These little smelly guys are like natural acrobats, when alarmed, they simply execute backflips and jumps so quickly and with perfect execution that it will make you scream and jump back! So be aware of that too.

These bugs cause tremendous damage to bugs and are considered invasive so if you do see one, snap a photo and report it to Maine.gov here! That way, the state can document how many we have and try to get rid of these guys!

So, the next time you find yourself face-to-face with this stinky butt, take a photo, remove it from the house, and remember to embrace the humor in the situation. After all, life's too short not to laugh at nature's smelliest creations!
