In some people's eyes, over the last few years, Augusta has kind of become a less than desirable place to be.  Sadly, we have seen this idea promoted through social media posts and Youtube top 10 lists.  Sure, the city has seen its share of crime, homelessness, and drug use.

However, despite all of these issues, the city has really grown culturally and economically over the last few years.  In the years leading up to, and continuing through, the pandemic, the city saw the addition of many new restaurants, bars, and other businesses.  The downtown is now a much more vibrant place than it was just a few years ago.

On top of that, we have seen the re-launch and launch of several notable festivals and annual events.  It seems like there is always something going on in town.

A couple of local business owners have found a cool way to showcase all that is great about the City of Augusta.  After seeing other local communities do it, Kim and Clark Phinney, of Amour World Market and Lilac Catering, have started promoting the use of #LoveAugustaME hashtag as a way to showcase all the good things about Augusta.

They are encouraging every person to make three posts about something they love about Augusta, Maine in order to promote the city we call home.  These things can literally be anything!  A local business, our historic downtown, pictures of a local festival, a local personality, pics / videos of a show they saw at the Augusta Civic Center, etc.

We seriously hope that you will join in on the fun of using this hashtag to promote all the good things about the City of Augusta.
