PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (AP) — State officials are heading to northern Maine to answer questions and offer information about the new federal health care law.

The Maine Bureau of Insurance is holding a public information session on the Affordable Health Care Act at the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Friday. The meeting will be held at the Campus Center Allagash Room at 5 p.m.

The sessions, which have been held throughout the state this month, are designed to give people a chance to ask questions about the new health insurance exchange and proposed coverage plans being offered this fall.

Maine residents can begin enrolling in the federally-run health care exchange Oct. 1. Coverage on the exchange begins Jan. 1.
