The 61-year-old Suitter was found brutally beaten and stabbed inside his mobile home on March 1, 2015. Prosecutors described the killing as a drug-related robbery. Dobbins was 18 at the time. His accomplice, Samuel Geary of Houlton, was 16.

Geary pleaded guilty to murder last month and was sentenced to 40 years in prison. He was tried as an adult in the case, due in part to the severity of the crime. Geary is serving his sentence at the Maine State Prison in Warren.
