A head on accident Wednesday on North Rd at the intersection of Houlton Plaza leads to an arrest of a 22-year-old Houlton man for multiple charges including assault on an officer, OUI & resisting arrest.

Police said Noah W. Blake from Houlton was driving south on North Rd when he crossed the center line in his 2004 Dodge pick-up and hit two north bound vehicles. There were no injuries. The vehicles were extensively damaged.

HPD said during the on-scene investigation, Blake became combative with Officer Shane Campbell and a Sheriff Deputy. After a physical altercation, Blake was taken to HRH for possible injuries and high level of intoxication.

Officer Campbell and the Deputy sustained minor injuries during the altercation, said Houlton Police Chief DeLuca.

Blake was later taken to the Aroostook County Jail. He was charged with two counts of Assault on an Officer, a Class C Felony; Operating Under the Influence, a Class D Misdemeanor; Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention, a Class D Misdemeanor.

Maine State Police, Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office and the Houlton Fire Department assisted.

The incident remains is under investigation.
