Hackers Broadcast Zombie Alert on American TV [VIDEO]

A US television channel had its regular programming interrupted Monday by word of a zombie apocalypse. Apparently it was a false alarm.

The Montana Television Network says someone hacked into the Emergency Alert System of Great Falls affiliate KRTV and its CW TV station.

Hackers were able to broadcast a message that "dead bodies are rising from their graves" and warned people not to "approach or apprehend these bodies as they are extremely dangerous." Here’s a short clip of what viewers saw:

The network confirmed there was no emergency and station engineers are investigating how this may have happened.

The Great Falls Tribune reports the fake alert generated a number of calls to police in the area.
